Joe CorneliI'm a US Citizen, born 11/22/1979, in Steven's Point, Wisconsin. I moved to the Twin Cities with my family when I was 10 years old. My higher education experiences began when I was 16, at the University of Minnesota, where, through the state's Post-Secondary Enrollment Options program, I was allowed to take whatever classes I liked. in 2002, I received my bachelor's degree from New College of Florida, where I studied Mathematics. After graduation, I traveled to the University of Texas in Austin for their math Ph. D. program. In this setting, my tendency to think out of the box took over. I spent at least as much time trying to understand and reenvision the program as I did doing coursework. I left the program after two and a half years without a terminal degree, but with a new understanding of myself as a systems thinker and innovator. |
